Branch Circuit Monitoring (BCM) shown below are small 20 amp ammeters all bundled together on a printed circuit board. These are coupled to a control board allowing Modbus communication to a master controller, in this instance an Allen Bradley PLC. This project was a retro-fit installation as the switchboards were already in place. We completed this installation with the use of 4 Powerlogic BCPM units monitoring 42 sub circuits each (168 circuits in Total) within a Data Centre on UPS fed switchboards. We also installed 12 Power Logic power meters throughout the essential power distribution system, air conditioning essential supplies and supplies into each of the 400 Amp UPS within the site. This has now allowed our client to monitor loads from their desktop and they can now easily balance the loads within the data centre where needed.
